The award honors an individual for outstanding work in nonprofit, backed by his/her body of work and specific successful outcomes. Each year, the CSPRC Board of Directors looks for individuals who take a creative approach to achieving success for their organization in a competitive market.
“We are proud to acknowledge that we have an incredibly talented and dynamic group of professionals in St. Louis who support a variety of nonprofit organizations,” says Amie Bossi, development director of Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery and CSPRC board president. “Carol was selected from among several impressive candidates and we congratulate her for her achievements.”
Carol has dedicated her professional life for the past 20 years to helping board members embrace fundraising. Her experience serving on 37 boards and being president of 8 has given her the insight she’s needed to help others make impactful changes. After hearing the same concerns from a number of senior executives, she founded the Nonprofit Leadership Forum, a monthly group coaching program. She’s authored nine books on philanthropy and fundraising and presents at retreats and numerous functions each year. She also writes a blog for the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
“I remember the first time I spoke to CSPRC 19 years ago,” says Carol Weisman. “I looked out at the room and thought, ‘Wow! These people are my peers. What an amazing group of people.’ I never imagined I would receive such an honor. Thanks to all!”
CSPRC’s Nonprofit Professional of the Year award is the only award in St. Louis honoring public relations, communications, and development professionals working in the nonprofit arena.
